Shia Alchemy is a private and professional matchmaking service for single Shia’s across Europe. We understand the challenges of finding a perfect match. That’s why we’ve developed a customised matchmaking process that begins with a detailed assessment of your personality and relationship preferences. Our experienced matchmakers then match you with like-minded partners based on shared values and goals.
Matchmaking has a long history, traditionally relying on goodwill and connections from friends and family. Shia Alchemy embraces this tradition but expands its reach through an expansive network of single Shia’s across Europe.
Our meticulous matchmaking methodology creates tailored matches that align with your specific criteria and relationship personality. By combining digital matchmaking tools and a pool of eligible singles, we aim to facilitate sincere and meaningful connections.
Shia Alchemy is operated by The Council of European Jamaats, a registered charity in England and Wales for over two decades.

STEP 1.
Complete the registration questionnaire
This is arguably the most important step in the process and the one that gives our matchmakers the most insight about you. We strongly recommend that you take your time in completing the questionnaire and provide as much detail as possible. Information from your questionnaire is used to create your profile and help us find your match. We do not share your registration form with anyone and only use some information to generate your profile so please be as informative as possible.
At Shia Alchemy, we know that no two clients are alike. We believe that learning as much as possible about our client’s relationship personality is key to finding the right match. By examining your registration questionnaire, we learn about our client’s individual lifestyle, family background and values. We also request each client to share their specific Attachment Style and Love Language – which they can ascertain through a third party link on our website. This unique approach helps us identify the traits that have the biggest impact on their relationships.
By compiling a holistic personality profile, we’re able to effectively calibrate the search for the one.
STEP 2.
Introduction
Once we’ve found a suitable match you’ll both receive a concise yet informative bio of your match. We do not share your registration questionnaire at any stage. If both parties show interest, we’ll share your contact details and leave you to reach out. If interest is not shown by both parties, we continue our search.
STEP 3.
Feedback
To make the matchmaking journey as effective as possible, we ask you to share feedback on your match. This is done privately within the member portal.
It’s important to note that we will only introduce you to one match at a time. If your conversation with a match has come to an end, you must update your profile so we can continue our search. If you do not do this, we will assume that you are still getting to know one another and we will not introduce other matches during this time.
SUBSCRIPTION
Membership
All members of Shia Alchemy pay to use our service. There is only one type of membership offered and you can choose to pay monthly or annually.
Monthly cost of membership is £15
Annual cost of membership is £150
Your membership includes registration on our website and the service of a trained matchmaker to make introductions to other registered members.
You do not get access to our database to search through profiles and we do not guarantee a minimum number of introductions per month.

Understanding Our Service
We are registered with Data Protection to store personal information in a secure system and we never share your information with third parties. You will have access to your personal profile before it is sent to any potential matches so you feel comfortable with the information that is being shared.
It is important to note that the initial registration form you complete is always private. Information from the form is used to generate your profile, and not shared in its entirety. The purpose of the registration form is so that matchmakers can understand your circumstances and needs.
The minimum age for registration is 18 and there is no maximum age. Our youngest client so far is 20 and our oldest in their mid 70’s.
Yes, this is our niche. We market our service as a Shia-only matchmaking service.
Our current ratio is 51% female, 49% male. We measure this ratio quarterly. If the ratio reaches 47% either way, we suspend new membership for that gender until the ratio is increased. Members do go on hold (either because we have introduced them to their new partner, are taking holidays or travelling for work) this ratio is always moving.
We welcome anyone looking for a marriage partner, irrespective of your relationship history. As long as you are officially divorced by the law of the land, we will accept your membership. We will introduce you to members who are open to a match with your relationship history.
Our definition of Shia is broad. In the registration questionnaire we give members the option to specify which sub-sect they are a part of, and to indicate which sects’ followers they are open to being introduced to.
Our concern as a matchmaking service is with your authenticity and your approach to finding a life partner. Your degree of religious observance is your own private matter. We do ask you to indicate your level of observance in the registration questionnaire and indicate what level of observance you are seeking in a partner in order to make an introduction.
After completing the registration form, your profile will be assigned to a matchmaker who will assess your profile page and get in touch if he/she feels that we need to include more information on your profile, update your images, or obtain any missing information.
Once your profile is complete, we will get to work and start finding you matches. You will have access to your profile page to make updates, view your match suggestions, and provide feedback on your matches.
A match suggestion will be made within the website portal and via email. Once both parties have indicated mutual interest, your contact details will be shared via email. At this stage, we pause your matchmaking journey and encourage you to immerse yourself in getting to know your match.
Shia Achemy will leave you to reach out to your match and get to know one another. We ask that you provide feedback on your match via the portal. This gives us better insight into your needs. We do not share your feedback with anyone.
Note that we only introduce you to one person at a time. If the introduction has been unsuccessful, we will reinstate your membership and continue searching for matches.

Shia Alchemy is a private and professional introduction service and the privacy of our members is paramount. We do not allow users to search our database and will only make a match suggestion based on the preferences you have indicated on your registration form.

We highly encourage the sharing of profile pictures but it is not mandatory. Our experience shows that profiles with well-captured, good-quality images get a much better response than profiles with either no images or images of poor quality. We think it’s so important that we’ve written a blog about it ‘here’
The ‘Alchemy Matchmaking Methodology’ is multi-layered. As well as considering your baseline preference criteria (such as age, religious observance, etc), we use personality profiling and psychometrics to assist our matchmakers. It’s not mandatory to share this information but highly encouraged.
This depends on several factors and we cannot provide an answer to this question. It could be as quickly as a day after you register or you could be waiting for up to 3 months. Patience is key in this journey.
Log in to your profile page via the website and update your profile as desired.
We encourage members to manage their own profile and take responsibility for their own matchmaking journey however you have the option to include multiple email addresses within your profile page. This will ensure your match suggestions are sent to all email addresses.
To cancel your membership, log in to the site and select cancel membership. If you are an annual member, you will not be refunded if there is a term remaining on your membership. As a monthly member, your last payment will be considered your final payment and you will no longer have access to the site.
The only time we will operate a waiting list system is if the gender ratio of our members falls below 47%. Once you have completed the registration form you will be added to our waiting list and informed of your position on the list.
